Lynda Nash is working for all Harker Heights citizens.
Lynda works tirelessly to advocate for the interests of all Harker Heights citizens and does not put special interests over those of our families and neighbors.
Putting our voices first.
In November 2020 Councilwoman Lynda Nash became the first Black woman to be elected to the Harker Heights City Council. Ms. Nash served more than 20-years in the United States Army and is also retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs. She was born in Syracuse, New York raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina and has lived in Harker Heights for the last 20 years. In June 2022, Ms. Nash became the 1st American of African descent serve on the Bell County Elections Commission.
Additionally, Ms. Nash is a proud graduate of Troy State University is the founder of the Non-Profit organization, “I am my Grandparents Keeper”, President of the Harker Heights Community Resource Center and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hill Country Transit Authority (HOP), as well as serving as a Commissioner for the Harker Heights Arts Council. She is a community activist for the youth, elderly and the disenfranchised as well as a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is a member of several organizations and committees to include the Women Army Corps (WAC), the Harker Heights Lions Club, Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce member, member of both the Killeen and Temple NAACP organizations, and VFW Post 12209.
Ms. Nash is the proud mother of 3 children. Tanesha, Viktoria and Dreylynn who all reside in Bell County.
